The “Rallye for a Cure” is a grassroots event created to empower people to take action in the fight against T1D by using their classic cars to spark awareness.

The "Rallye for a Cure" Founders, Linda and Bill Wright. started this annual road rallye to support their son, Jack, and the millions of people like him who have Type 1 Diabetes. Bill, an avid car enthusiast, was happy to combine his love for vintage cars with his passion to help cure T1D. Jack was diagnosed with diabetes in 2009 when he was a 6th grader at King Philip Middle School in West Hartford. He now is the Program Manager for the Energy Warriors Workforce Development Program at Cornell Cooperative Extension. The whole family— Jack and his wife Lil, Alli and her husband Jack, and Natalie— help with Registration, scoring answer sheets, doling out auction items, and taking part in the Awards Ceremony at the end of the day. Several of Linda’s friends try out the route to make certain that all the clues can be seen, Linda’s sisters come from New Hampshire and Massachusetts to participate and help run the day, and many past participants join in on Rallye Day to help make sure the event runs smoothly.
